This round robin was written by members of the Barnabas-Quentin Onelist who were unable to attend the 1999 Dark Shadows Fest in New York.
Beverly watched the others watch her, as she glided over to the open arms of Barnabas Collins. Closing his arms around her she melted into his embrace. She knew Angelique was there, but simply did not care. Angelique seemed to have found somebody else to torment anyway, and she looked to be enjoying herself. Let them think she was under a spell, it was fine with her, so long as they didn't try anything to take her away from Barnabas. Any and all thoughts of the Festival were long forgotten by all of them. Barnabas had led Beverly to the large front entrance doors of Collinwood, and retrieved his cape and cane, then taking Beverly gently by the arm, he lead her out the double doors into the night. It was misting, like it was getting ready to rain, and the wind had started to blow, and it was whipping her hair wildly around her face. Barnabas stopped, and turned to her, gently moving her hair out of her face, and then bent down and kissed her softly on the lips. He could hear her heart rate speed up. Then he put his arm around her waist and pulled her into him, and she asked him if Willie was at the Old House. "No, he is not. We will be alone." Barnabas answered in a low seductive voice.
That's when she got tongue-tied. His hands were cold, and the cold burned through her veins like liquid fire that ignited a desire so strong that it was beginning to cloud her senses. Noticing when he kissed her lightly his lips were very cold like ice, but the burning sensation was the same as his hands. I need to get a hold of myself she was thinking as they entered the Old House. He took Beverly's hand and lead her upstairs to Josette's Room. His masculinity was so overwhelming she didn't take notice of the beautiful room they had entered--it was all she could think about was him, touching him, and...
Barnabas removed his jacket, and walked over to where she was standing, took her in his arms, and kissed her, a very deep and sensual kiss. Beverly felt like a jolt of electricity had shot through to her very soul. Truly, she thought, I have never been really kissed until now. Then she felt the fangs piercing, and she jerked away. His hold was like iron--she couldn't budge. If she knew one thing, it was that she had to get out of here. She was struggling like mad, then Beverly did something she shouldn't have done--she bit his hand. By reaction he swung Beverly around and slapped her, and she stumbled back. Deep in the recesses of her mind, she registered the pain, but that soon gave way to rage. That's when she saw the cane he had tossed carelessly on the floor when we walked in here. She wasn't thinking, he had his back to her, thinking she was rendered incapable of anythingbut subservience. He was unbuttoning his shirtsleeves, and now it appeared he was unbuttoning his shirt. That enraged her further, and before she knew it she had the cane in my hand, and hit him on the head, and the back as hard as she could. He went down, and Beverly made my way for the door. The next thing she knew she was flung on the bed pinned down by him, and his nearness was doing things, like clouding her senses again. She told myself to focus, and she stopped the struggle. He relaxed, and she moved fast, grabbing the cane from the chair. Beverly almost made it, when she was stopped, she saw the blood red eyes, and fangs.
She didn't know at the time that Angelique was behind this little occurrence, but it would be awhile before it would all come to light. Barnabas wanted her, and she wanted him, so Angelique had decided to make her hate him. It might have worked, except everytime she was close to him, her common sense flew out the window.
Susie and Cheri entered the room and saw Beverly with the cane in her hand, her green eyes blazing. Barnabas Collins was looking at her very dangerously, eyes were blazing red, and fangs were extended. Chris had a large crucifix extended--that's when she saw him. She saw Chris with one of the most beautiful men she had ever laid eyes on. It was Quentin Collins!
He looked directly at her when he heard her sharp intake of breath, and saw her green eyes blazing anger at him.
